Stopping a mate from driving drunk makes you a "bloody legend'', according to the television ads.
电视广告上说，阻止朋友醉酒驾驶会让你成为“传说”。
Bloody：本意是血腥的，不过一般只是用来加强语气，没有实际含义。不过这个字算是脏话。
But a Cromwell man found it was not quite that simple when his mate stabbed him in the left arm six times as he tried to grab his car keys.
不过一个来自新西兰南岛克伦威尔的男子发现这事儿不是那么简单：他在阻止醉驾朋友开车时，被朋友在他左臂上捅了6刀。
The victim collapsed in a pool of his own blood and was airlifted from Central Otago to Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition where surgeons worked to save his limb.
受害者倒在血泊中，被直升机送到丹尼丁（Dunedin）医院，外科医生通力合作抢救他的胳膊。

He would be doing "extremely well"' to eventually have his arm functioning at 50 per cent, a specialist said.

The pair, who had been friends for more than 20 years, met at the victim's house for a party on June 17.

The victim approached and reached into the half-open window to take the keys out of the ignition.

Craig Lisle Wadsworth, 42, grabbed a hunting knife from the central console, took it out of its sheath and began "furiously stabbing" the victim's left arm.

Wadsworth will spend the next nine months at his Cromwell home and was sentenced to 250 hours' community. He was also ordered to pay the victim $5000.
